I’ve worked in education since 2016, teaching young people about reading and writing and the outdoors. I have my Bachelors in Secondary English Education and have worked with all age groups from 5 years to 18. I care very much for each young person I work with and enjoy helping them learn more about/build more skills around whatever it is they are working towards. Most of my work is in experiential, hands on learning that emphasizes art, nature, play, creativity, independence, empathy, curiosity, and confidence in the child.
I am a highly experienced and certified teacher with a New Zealand teaching license, currently teaching Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Literacy, and English Language (including PTE and IELTS preparation) at a secondary school in Auckland. With multiple Master’s degrees ( MBA, MA , and PGCE from the UK) and a strong background in both academic and applied education, I bring deep subject knowledge and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential. I am known for my ability to simplify complex concepts and present them in a way that students can easily understand and apply. My teaching philosophy is centred on creating an engaging, supportive learning environment where every student can succeed — regardless of their starting point. I can guarantee that your child will make progress and get his or her desired grade in the exam.
Kia Ora, I’m a first year university student who’s just completed NCEA with excellence endorsed throughout all three years, as well as multiple scholarship subjects. I enjoy talking to people and helping and I’d love to help more students succeed.
I am Takatoki, a rising first-year university student studying for a Bachelor of Commerce. Having tutored for many years, I have learnt the value of sharing my passion for current affairs with students to keep their subjects engrossing and applicable to the real world - while helping them prepare for the level of context required to succeed in exams. Taking advantage of the one-to-one nature of private tuition, I deliver conversation-led lessons that explore the syllabus in a collaborative way, prompting students to engage with the subject and its importance properly. To help students perform in exams, I spend a large portion of a lesson helping a student plan and begin to write an essay or short answer in response to past exam questions. Having represented New Zealand at the Australasian Economics Olympiad, I can also offer tutoring to students who are looking to compete for a spot on future national teams for both the preliminary and final round.
