I am an NZ certified teacher with 10 years of overseas experience across technology, tourism, and education. Having taught in New Zealand for 2 years, I specialize in NCEA Economics, Business Studies, Maths, and ESOL. I am known for being friendly, patient, supportive, and bilingual—dedicated to helping students from all backgrounds achieve success.
I am a MSc(Research) graduate who has been working as a Data Engineer for the past 3 years. I have been on maternity leave for the past couple of months and am excited to get back into the workforce. While in university, I was a tutor with Inspiration Education, and I tutored English and the sciences. I also taught Biochemisty at Waikato University as a tutor. I enjoy teaching as I believe the way a student is taught a subject really helps them form a connection to it, and this opens up new interests and career pathways for them.
Hi, my name is Fatima, and I am currently a Biomedical Science Student at The University of Auckland. I am passionate about human anatomy and biology, and keen to help other students with their subjects. With several years of private tutoring experience, I am confident I can guide students towards academic success. As a tutor, I aim to help students excel in the NCEA curriculum and build lifelong study techniques that will help them beyond high school. I understand that everyone learns differently, and I am committed to adapting to each student's unique learning style. I have an application-based approach to teaching with a primary focus on strategies and practicing past exams. I provide students with comprehensive notes, learning/revision activities and past paper walkthroughs.
I am passionate about teaching mathematics and have experience helping students understand complex concepts in a clear and engaging way. Through my lecturing and tutoring experience at undergraduate level Mathematics, I believe I can make abstract topics accessible and relevant to high school students.
I am a dedicated law student (also working part-time in the legal field) with a strong passion for English and History, having excelled in both IB Higher Level English and History, as well as in university-level courses in English and Politics & International Relations. My experience as a tutor for underprivileged children and as a law mentor has honed my ability to break down complex concepts and make learning accessible for others. With strong English skills developed through my law studies and practical experience, I am confident in my ability to help students improve their writing, critical thinking, and historical analysis skills.
I hold bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and a second Masters Cyber Security. I was the best student in Maths class during my high school. I teach Maths to my own kids in high school. I believe I can teach other kids too.
I am Takatoki, a rising first-year university student studying for a Bachelor of Commerce. Having tutored for many years, I have learnt the value of sharing my passion for current affairs with students to keep their subjects engrossing and applicable to the real world - while helping them prepare for the level of context required to succeed in exams. Taking advantage of the one-to-one nature of private tuition, I deliver conversation-led lessons that explore the syllabus in a collaborative way, prompting students to engage with the subject and its importance properly. To help students perform in exams, I spend a large portion of a lesson helping a student plan and begin to write an essay or short answer in response to past exam questions. Having represented New Zealand at the Australasian Economics Olympiad, I can also offer tutoring to students who are looking to compete for a spot on future national teams for both the preliminary and final round.
Hi, I'm Taha. I’m a current Year 13 student with consistent Excellence results, top student in my school, subject awards, and experience in both the old and new NCEA systems. I’ve tutored through my school’s homework club and worked with classmates one-on-one, so I know exactly where students struggle and how to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. As someone still in the system, I teach the material the way NCEA markers actually expect. I can help with understanding content, improving grades, exam prep, or general study habits. My rates are flexible. Contact me if you're interested.
Hi there, my name is Anna! I received Level 1, 2 and 3 Excellence Endorsement in NCEA and came 2nd in NCEA Level 3 Computer Science/ Digital Technologies. I also received a $16,000 AUT Find Your Greatness Scholarship which is awarded to high school leaver students who shows academic excellence and involvement across the school and community. I was a school prefect and an academic peer tutor, where in my free time I would help out students in subjects they required support on. I used to get tutoring myself for NCEA subjects so I know what it feels like to be in a student's position. With my talkative energy and experience in school tutoring, I know I have what it takes to help students out with the subjects they require help in. That's why I think I'd make a great tutor.
